Virtual Tour Course

Jun 19, 2023

Hi,

I have been tasked with creating a virtual tour of our franchise clinics.  I have all the pictures, but I'm feeling like just showing them and pointing out the things to note is very boring.  Any ideas to make it a little more exciting?  There will be a video at the end of a walkthrough, but we wanted to first show images with certain specifics identified.  I searched the discussions but most responses were years old and the links did not work.  Thanks in advance!

Hi Tracey. There's lots you can do to make a photo virtual tour more exciting than just seeing some pictures. Here are a few ideas to consider:

  • Include a character to guide them through the clinic, just like a real person would show them around if they were there in person. You could use one of the Content Library 360 characters for this or include photos or videos of a real employee if you have the resources to produce that.
  • If this tour is for future employees of the location, survey the current employees and add in their handiest tips about working at that location. Where's the quickest place nearby to go grab lunch? Where is the spare toilet paper kept in case a stall runs out? Where can you find a pen if you don't have one? Which meeting room has the comfiest layout? All the little insider tips that make it easier to work somewhere.
  • What will your audience for this project care about most? Try streamlining the tour to just that so people can get the info they need as efficiently as possible.
  • What's the "What's in it for me" for your audience? Consider kicking off the tour by directly addressing why this content will help them out, so they'll be more likely to stay engaged with the tour.
  • If it's important for them to remember critical information about each stop of the tour, consider inserting quick knowledge check questions between locations.
  • Consider if the video tour might do the job on its own and you don't need the photo portion after all. If the video tour needs a bit more context to work on its own, you could always add in narration or subtitles to ensure it covers everything you need it to.

Thank you Bianca!  This is basically a tour for new franchisees to see how the clinic should look when they set it up.  They order furniture and things for the office, but sometimes don't know what it should look like.  We have a manual of course, but this is just a visual representation of it.  I thought about using a character-that's a good idea.  I appreciate the response!
