The Leadership Files

Check Out the Demo Here

No one gets hurt in my demo this week. I'm done with the Hitchcock themes for now (though I do have a cute timed quiz in my bullpen for the future).

Slide 4 in the Demo

This challenge gave me a flashback.

In my last corporate role I was responsible for planning and organizing my company's annual org development review for our Marketing and Marketing Services Department. We did it in May every year for about 250 employees. Managers would prepare profiles of all their direct reports and present development plans to the senior executives. This forum was great for senior execs to become familiar with emerging talent, and it gave managers like me a way to demonstrate that I was developing my team.

For my direct reports I always had a development folder full of info on their current projects and my notes about their progress.

I tapped into that experience to develop this demo, using the principles of Situational Leadership. This model never grows old! There are many versions of it, but I like the simple "Learning, Competent, Proficient, Expert" structure.

The folder tabs are on the 4th slide. I think that would have been enough to address the challenge topic, but the demo felt unfinished. I added interactions with text entry fields for learners to type in how they might manage each employee, with some additional ideas based on the profiles.

Have a great week! And, yes, that is a Montse Anderson blurred background on my master slide...one of my most used freebies from when I learned Storyline 10 years ago.
