A slide ignores a trigger with variables

Hi, I need urgent help. I created this activity: it´s a 5 multiple-choice questionaire. If you choose the worst option in any question, an "error-count" variable adds a value of 1. Dependig if this count is 0, 1 or 2, an image (a level bar) must change in the current and following slides. The problem is that when advancing to the slide that contains question 2, the slide ignores the triggers that order the level bar to change, even if the variable indeed changes. Help!

Articulate Staff:I will share privately the SL file if you let me.

  • Hi DanielAlbarran unfortunately I can't read your triggers, but one thing I would check is that the variable value does actually change. For example, if you have a True/False variable, and the variable is set to True. Setting the variable to True again does not trigger a change. The same would go for a number variable. If already set to 2, setting to 2 again would not trigger the change trigger. You would need to reset the variable to a value you are not evaluating each time you use the variable on a different slide, for example "9999".

Thanks. I did check that the variable actually changes as I need, but the object doesn´t change. It only happens in one of five slides. What I finally tried was deleting the object and insert it again, with another name, and modify the triggers accordingly. That solved the issue. But it´s a mistery why it happened. Someone of the Articulate staff told me that "this can sometimes arise from file corruption or the way certain objects or triggers are processed, particularly if the project has undergone extensive editing over time. Ah, yes, I have experienced unexplained issues like this before and had to delete and recreate.
