Ability to track course completion in multiple ways?

I created a course utilizing this feature for a course that has a pretest/test-out option. The test out works great for those who read through the instructions and don't go through the course content.

However, we have people who are taking and passing the pretest who still want to review the course content. So they are clicking the View Content button shown here, but not clicking the continue button to trigger the Storyline block showing course completion.

Here is the block showing what it looks like for those who did not pass the pretest, and those that do. They need to click the Continue button to trigger the Storyline completion.

I thought about putting another storyline block at the end of the course content, but it doesn't seem that there is a way to track more than one option.

If it's the same storyline block will it still pull the information? Or is it completely separate?

  • Rise can only track completion via one option. And, if you choose to track via a completion trigger in a Storyline block, you can only use one SL block for completion. In other words, everyone has to be steered to the same SL block with the completion trigger that's used for tracking.

Here's what I think could be confusing your users:

The way folks skim content nowadays, I'm guessing that some glance at this and think they can do either step, instead of realizing they must do both steps in order.

I suggest you remove the instruction about clicking "Next Module." That should only be shown in the final lesson that has the trackable SL block.

P.S. People view the content even when they don't have to?!  Wow.
