Accessibility for Articulate Rise Knowledge Checks
Hi team,
We tested NVDA on a RISE module using only keyboard shortcut keys to test what blind users would be able to do (they don't use a mouse at all) and the reader skipped not only the feedback to the quizzes but also entire textual parts (paragraph with heading, image & text). Any thoughts on why?

Thanks for taking the time to test this with NVDA and keyboard-only navigation, MindaCarl, that's exactly the kind of real-world check that surfaces what matters most, whether a blind learner can actually get through the course, not just whether it looks accessible on paper. What you're describing, feedback and whole content blocks going unread, would genuinely block someone from completing a course, so I want to make sure we look into this properly rather than guess.
To dig into this properly, we'd want to take a look at the actual course. You're welcome to reach out to our Support team directly and share it privately with a Support Engineer through a case. It'd also help to include which content block the skipped paragraph/heading/image/text was part of, and which browser and NVDA version you were using.

Hi MindaCarl
Thanks for sharing this. I’d be curious to learn a little more about how you were navigating the Rise training with NVDA.
When you mention using keyboard shortcut keys, which keys or NVDA commands were you using?
I ask because there are a couple of different ways to navigate with a screen reader. For example, Tab and Shift+Tab generally move keyboard focus between interactive elements, such as buttons, links, and form controls. Text content, such as headings and paragraphs, isn’t typically included in that tab order. NVDA users can instead use reading and navigation commands, such as the arrow keys or shortcuts for navigating by headings, to explore that content.
Understanding which commands you were using would help us better understand what you experienced.
I’d also be interested in what happened with the quiz feedback. After submitting an answer, did the feedback appear visually but NVDA didn’t announce it, or were you navigating the page and unable to find it at all?
