Accessible Drag & Drop Tab function
Hi
I have created, what I hope is, an accessible drag and drop. I am unable to test if it works as the keyboard tab function does not work when I preview or publish.
Is there something I need to do to 'switch' this on?
Thanks.

Hi
A follow on from my last post, I can only tab around the system controls, I am unable to tab on objects on slide - this is in both Classic and Modern view. Any help gratefully accepted!
Thanks.

How did you create the drag version? Did you use the convert to freeform? If you shared the project, it would be easier to see what you did.

Hi Tom
Will share the project when back in tomorrow. Since posting, I've managed a clunky workaround but tabbing to select would be cleaner.
Another question relating to this piece of work - is it possible to have a keystroke drag and drop at the same time as a mouse drag and drop? This would allow users to choose their preferred format, keystroke or mouse.
Thanks.

Forgot to say I used the drag and drop slide with motion paths and keystrokes, not freeform.
I just helped someone else in the community. Go to this thread and you can see the video and download the file to deconstruct it.

Hi Tom
Here's my project for review. I had feedback today from someone testing it with Jaws, they were unable to get the focus onto the objects using the tab key. At top left, when tabbing yellow box outlines appear but don't do anything.
If you could identify how I can get the focus to work that would be great. I've picked up your other thread and will check it out for future projects.
Thanks.

- If you use convert to freeform and the objects have drag triggers, then you can't add click-based triggers. Not sure why, but probably has to do with clicking in a down state to move the objects.
- You need to build drag and drop triggers manually.
- In the other thread I made a recording that discusses that.

Hi Tom. Just to confirm that I didn't use convert to freeform to create this project - it was an existing drag and drop quiz slide which I added motion paths to. As this has a built-in drag is that what is stopping the click-based triggers?
Thanks.

It is a freeform question, you can check by going to the insert menu and if it says remove freeform then it is already a freeform.
It would be a lot of work to convert this to a freeform and you would need to edit alt text on each one to explain what to do.
With complex drag and drop like this I would use branching for accessibility and either ask them a question at the beginning if they need accessibility or when they press tab keep open a popup to ask if they would like to access an accessible version and then jump them to a multiple response question.
