Accessible Search Button Articulate Rise
Hi friends!
I recently had an accessibility review conducted by my IT team for a course I am publishing with Ariculate Rise.
Here is their feedback:
The Open Search Menu button is only reachable from the course navigation menu. Including the Open Search Menu button in the course navigation menu adds complexity for both screen reader and visual users. After opening and closing the search menu, the course navigation menu is closed. Users must reopen the course navigation menu to access the search function.
Our UW IT Team recommends:
We recommend moving the Open Search Menu button outside of the course navigation menu to provide all users with better access to the search functionality.
My question:
Is this possible?

Hi rae55!
Happy to help!
In Rise 360, authors can enable or disable the search feature from the Navigation menu. However, it is currently not possible to reposition the search field outside of the standard navigation menu.
We're committed to improving our products so our authors can create accessible e-learning. This is an issue we've identified and have been tracking in our Rise 360: Accessibility Maturity Plan. I've also shared your feedback directly with our product team!
In the meantime, you may be able to achieve a custom design by implementing Javascript. While unsupported, we do have a lot of code-minded users here in the community. You can connect with them in our dedicated Javascript Group.
