Add button to marker
I'm working on a course with a slide that requires some field definitions. I'm using markers to provide them. For one field, I want to give the user the option to see more examples. I had intended to use a button to lightbox a slide with more examples, but I can't seem to add a button to the marker label area.
What I want is for the user to click the field marker and see a pop-up with the field name, definition, and a button to see examples if they want more context. When they click the button, a lightbox with examples appears.
Is this something that can be done? Or should I just make my own markers with states rather than using the built-in ones?
Hello Madison,
Thanks for reaching out!
There isn't a way to add a button that is linked with a trigger inside a marker. You can add a trigger to open a lightbox when the marker is clicked on, but this action cannot be done for media files inside the marker text area.
I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!

That's what I feared.
I noticed that I can hyperlink text inside the marker. Can I set a trigger so when a user clicks on the hyperlink it will open a lightbox? That would be an okay work around (not perfect, but okay).
Hi Madison,
Yes, that is a possibility. Here's how you can do this:
- Highlight the text that you want to hyperlink inside the marker
- Right click on the highlighted text -> Hyperlink
- Change the action to Lightbox Slide
- Click on OK to save the trigger.
Let me know if you have any questions!
