Adding more computer voices to Text-to-Speech
- 12 months ago
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 83, we’ve included important fixes and new features!
One enhanced feature we’ve included:
Unlock new possibilities for text-to-speech audio. Use speech synthesis markup language (SSML) to adjust the speaking rate, modify pronunciation, emphasize words, add pauses, and more.
To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here!
Yeah, this is a hard thing to create in a full elearning tool. Most of the high quality, natural voices are standalone options, as that is their focus. We use Amazon Polly (neural setting) for our TTS. I haven't used TextAloud in a while, but remember those being very high quality voices for the price. And while TTS in SL360 is a great feature, it's not one I rely on.
Dear A360 support team,
Too much talking and no progresses.
Like many requests, this about enhancing the text-to-speech features (more voices, better quality, possibility to vary the speech speed,...) is being a lot discussed and analyzed, but no improvements so far. I've posted my first comment about better voices 2 years ago and this is still being discussed.
