AI course creation alters source text too much

I suspect our course production process must be fairly standard: we write the course in text form first and then build it into RISE as an interactive course. This feels like a pretty standard approach.

It means that by the time we're working in RISE, our course material is already close to final-draft quality. It has been written with our learners in mind, it follows our style guide, it has input from SME's and has been reviewed by multiple stakeholders.

At that point, we move into RISE to start building the learning experience. The hope was that using the AI course creation tool would streamline this part of the process. I expected it to take the text, break it into modules, add in some activities, generate interactive blocks like accordions, tabs, etc.

But instead, it takes all our hand-crafted material and completely re-writes it.

This makes the feature completely unusable. And this must be the case for, I would imagine, a significant portion if not the majority of users...  Many of us are course developers, learning designers, writers, educators... "Make me a course on this topic" is not what most people use RISE for, I don't think.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had not tried that but had had only poor success with the Magic Quiz importer.

I have just now tried the Magic Lesson Importer. All it did was create some numbered bullets at the top of the lesson and then dump the text into the body of the lesson. It perhaps saved me 90 seconds of copy-paste time, but it did nothing in the way of generating interactive blocks or activities, just plain text.

I think it's fair to say there's quite a lot of work still to be done on the AI features. Sort of disappointing since they've already released a subscription package for them, whereas I'd suggest the whole bank of features is still very much in Beta...

On the plus side, it's certainly not threatening my job any time soon!

        Hi ICEFAcademy,

Great to see that Chris has been helping you. Sorry to hear that you're having trouble generating Rise course content with AI Assistant.

It looks like my teammate Cleober emailed you through your support case, but you may have missed it. No worries! I've just resent his latest email again for your reference.

We can continue the conversation through your case!
