Any way of immediately disappearing a dropped object?

If you change to hidden and then jump off that state I am sure it is quicker
Thanks for trying. Instead, there's a lengthy gap between dropping the item and the next slide. So, that space is just blank for a good 2 seconds or so before something appears again.
