Anyway to prevent the resume prompt once user has finished?
I have set up my Storyline module to prompt the user to resume where they left off if they exit the course. I am wondering if there is any way to disable this prompt once the user has completed the course?
The reason I am asking is that there is a Restart button on the LMS and when users click this the Storyline module is launched and then prompts the learner to resume where they left off - people are finding this confusing because they have already clicked a button to restart.

Hi Nancy! Is it safe to assume that you've tried checking the check box in there labeled "When running in LMS, ignore Flash cookie"? Do you know if you're LMS supports bookmarking?

Hey Mike you know what they say about assuming
. I have not tried that primarily because I have no idea what it does. I want users to be able to bookmark where they left off until they complete then I want them to be forced to the first screen if they restart the course after completion. I assume the LMS supports bookmarking - it is SumTotal (not sure what version the client is running though).
So are you saying that is I set "When running in LMS, ignore Flash cookie" that Storyline will not prompt the user to resume where they left off but that the LMS might be able to take over bookmarking?

Hi Nancy, sorry I lost track of this. Did you ever try this out or have any luck with it any other way?

Hi,
We have a similar requirement. Has anyone worked on this? There is a solution available but that's in articulate studio. I don't think similar code will work in storyline. If anyone has any worked out a solution and willing to share the work will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Hi Ganesh,
I'm not sure the code solution you mentioned in regards to Studio, but as far as I know there isn't a way to change the behavior in Storyline. If the user has completed the course, and chooses to resume though - they shouldn't be able to change their answers or score if that is what you're concerned about?

Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your reply.
It looks like someone has hacked a solution to this issue. However the post is quite old from 2011 and storyline only launched in 2012 so I am assuming it must be for studio. Please see the link http://frameentered.com/content/preventing-resume-after-articulate-course-completion
I am looking for similar solution. We want to users to go through the course but once once it completed and user revisits the the course if the user resumes it always take him to the last page. I want the users to start from first page when they revisit the same course after completion.
Hope someone helps me out.
Thanks
Hi Ganesh,
I suspect it's for Studio as well - but you could always look at it as a starting point for Storyline? Code in general and modifying the published output is not something I'm able to assist with - but it's always worth a try if you've got the skills and time? Just do a save as so you don't mess up your regular output. ;)

Yeah.. sure. I will have to dig into some coding.
Have a good weekend

Hello All,
We have a similar requirement. Has anyone worked on this?
Problem:
we have a course which should show "resume" option when course is incomplete and it work correctly as default feature provided by Storyline, however when use reaches the final complete screen and close the course and restart it doesn't ask for "resume" we want to show the "resume" option always to the user.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Hi there Ravi, thanks for your question! Can you help me with a few more details?
- What version of Storyline are you using?
- Did you select "Prompt to Resume" as the resume setting?
- Are you testing the file on a web server or on a learning management system?

We are using storyline 2
Yes we have checked the option
And we are testing the course on scorm.Cloud.Com
