Articulate 360 Open Forum: Ask Your Questions
I have a quick question about the Rise 360 translation feature.
If I've already translated a course into another language in Rise 360 and later make a minor edit to the original English version, will that change automatically be reflected in the translated version, or would I need to translate the course again?
If retranslation is required, would it consume additional translation credits for the entire course, or only for the content that was modified?
I'd appreciate any clarification on how this works, especially when making small updates to previously translated courses.
Thank you!

Hi hfalearning,
Happy to clarify how small updates work!
Changes to your original English text aren’t automatically translated into the other languages. To translate those updates, open the language dropdown, select Back to Stack, then click Update Translation. The Translate Updates section of our guide walks through the process.
If you translate using credits, credit usage is based on the source characters in new or changed text segments for each target language, rather than the entire course. A segment is typically the text in a block, so changing one word can require retranslating that whole segment.
If your organization uses a course-based Localization plan, usage is counted when you publish translations instead. You can republish the same course in the same languages within the same billing period without using additional published translation credits. The billing section of our Localization FAQ explains both models.
Once you’ve reviewed the updated translations, republish your course to make the changes available to learners.
