Articulate courses not consistently tracking in Workday LMS
I found an old thread on this, but I am wondering if anyone has updates. We implemented Workday LMS a few months ago and have lots of reported issues with courses not recording completions. These are random and we cannot recreate what is happening for our employees. Workday is saying that the issue is in how the SCORM file is packaged with the authoring tool. This doesn't make sense since we see the issue frequently but not consistently. Any insights from this group are appreciated!

I should mention that our courses are built with Rise 360 and published as SCORM 2004, 4th edition (guideline provided by Workday for publishing).

Hi AmyRussell-c032,
Thanks for sharing this, and you’re not alone in seeing this with Workday.
There have been similar reports over the years where Rise and Storyline courses track inconsistently in Workday, especially in ways that are hard to reproduce. When the behavior is random like this, it’s usually tied to how the LMS is handling SCORM session and resume data, rather than an issue with how the course is packaged.
A couple of helpful next steps:
- Test the same SCORM package in SCORM Cloud. If it tracks reliably there, that helps confirm the Rise output is working as expected.
- Review completion criteria and learner behavior, such as timeouts, closing the browser, or relaunching the course, since those can affect how Workday records completion.
- Even though you’re following Workday’s recommendation with SCORM 2004 4th edition, some teams have found it useful to test alternate reporting settings as a comparison.
If you’d like, opening a support case can help us review a sample course alongside your SCORM Cloud results and look for patterns specific to your setup.
