Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.
Errors like this usually happen when data corruption is introduced into a project file. This article explains the common cause of data corruption and how to avoid it.
As a troubleshooting step, you can try importing your existing slides to a new project file. If this doesn't fix the issue, please share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can check the file and attempt to fix it. We'll delete it when we're done testing!
