Did you take a look at the following page:

There is also a YouTube video on this page, which shows you how you can setup a API Key.
Your Spreadsheet needs to be public, otherwise you can't access the data. You can access my spreadsheet with the link below:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Xt9PSUmjHkQl2xPrD8n_JDTTc3VwnZltPAuBWEgDH0A/edit#gid=0
Without logging in, you can access the data.
So maybe the problem is the settings of the spreadsheet.
