I've found this behavior to be quite inconsistent and unpredictable. Out of 20 slide previews, the 'Continue' button appeared as expected only a few times. In 80% of the cases, there was a delay of 3 or more seconds before the button showed up, making the behavior seem unreliable. I couldn't pinpoint a specific cause, but I've observed before that using a trigger to set an object to a hidden state when the timeline starts tends to be unreliable and should be avoided. A better approach would be to set the 'Continue' button's default state to Hidden and remove the initial trigger, which should resolve the issue. I would also consider deleting "Jump to this slide" trigger on other layers and use "Hide this layer" trigger instead. This will also solve the issue, but it may take more time to implement. However, both solutions described above will set you on the right track.
I created a simple scene with two slides and one quiz question. Each slide contains six buttons and a hidden Continue button, which changes to its Normal state once all the buttons have been visited. The Continue button then leads to the quiz question. I wasn't able to replicate the issue. Would you mind sharing your .story file so that someone can take a closer look?
