Background Image Colors

Hi, I'm making a course in Rise and got a few background images from my marketing team to try on this. The color of the background image changes with the block. Sometimes it is darker than the original image and other times it's the same color. I can't figure out what setting I need to change or why certain blocks are brighter/darker. Does anyone have a solution for this?

  • Hi SequenceTrainin,

Thanks for reaching out! It sounds like the difference in how your background images appear is due to the overlay settings in each block.

In Rise 360, when you add a background image to a block, you can apply a transparent overlay, either light or dark, and adjust its opacity. This affects how bright or dark the image looks. For example, a dark overlay with high opacity will make the image appear darker, while a light overlay or low opacity will let more of the original image show through.

Since each block can have its own overlay settings, the image might look different from block to block, even if you’re using the same file. To fix this, open the Style or Image settings for each block and make sure the overlay color and opacity are consistent.

You can find more details in the Rise 360: Enhanced Block Settings guide. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
