Bandwidth for Code Blocks in Rise

Hi! I was just in the Articulate Updates 10/21/25 webinar and had a question about Code Blocks in Rise. Do courses with code blocks require a higher bandwidth for the learner to access? Some of our facilities have low bandwidth for their WiFi and I wouldn't want them to miss out on an interaction if I use code instead of another block type.

    Great question!

    If a Rise 360 Code Block is using only light HTML/JavaScript with minimal external assets, the bandwidth demands may be quite low. If your code relies heavily on external assets, such as JavaScript libraries, those have to be fetched by the learner’s browser. A few hundred kilobytes of JavaScript isn’t huge, but in extremely low-bandwidth networks, it could possibly slow load times.

    You may want to consider mixing standard Blocks for general use, and Code Blocks for "premium" interactive sections of your course. Also, before deployment, I suggest testing the course in the low-bandwidth environment to gauge the load times and responsiveness.
