Beginning blank frames when publishing to video
Is there a particular reason why when I publish a screen recording to video the first several frames are blank so that when you import into Rise the video block is black vs. showing the first slide ...

Hi Bill!
Thank you for sharing the screenshot!
What you're noticing is a change in the way audio is displayed in Chrome.
In Chrome 70+, learners may see a play button when they launch or resume a course with audio on the first slide. They just need to click the play button to start the course, and audio will play as expected.
One workaround is to create a slide that has a short timeline and place it as the first slide. This will eliminate the "Play button" screen that appears when the first slide includes media.
