Branching scenario with fillable fields

I am trying to figure out how to create a branching scenario that pulls in learner specific information, like their name. I saw it used in this example https://community.articulate.com/e-learning-examples/storyline-360-personalized-branching-scenario but I don't know how to build it in Storyline.

Ideally we could have a couple slides like that where the learner will input information and that will be pulled into the scenario in a fill-in-the-blank kind of way.

  • You need to create a text input field [insert>input>data entry]

That allows the person to insert text which updates the text variable. From there, you need to add text on the screen and where you want the name to appear insert the variable reference.

    Example:

Hello, %textvariable%. How are you doing?

  • You need to understand variables. Find the videos in the training webinar area on understanding variables, and then couple that with your example. I think that should help out alot.

  • I echo what Paul recommends. Make the investment to learn more about variables and you'll feel comfortable working with them.
