Bug with rounded corners
Hi, EquipeMiyagi!
The behavior you describe isn't expected, so I'm happy to dig into what's going on. You mentioned this is a long-running issue. Is it safe to say it's affecting multiple files? One thing you can try is a Storyline repair.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, it'd be helpful to learn more about the following questions:
- Are you able to reproduce the issue in a brand new project file?
- Were any of the courses originally created from a template?
- Are you copying and pasting shapes from a different project?
If you're willing to share your .Story file, we can do further testing on our end. You can upload that here or privately in a support case, and we'll delete it once troubleshooting is complete!
Hi KellyAuner
The behavior has been expected as a standard procedure for me for over a year. I think it started when this new option for rounded corners was added.
My rough thought process is that this happens when you are editing older storyline files that were created before this feature (but having an up-to-date Storyline version).
I cannot reproduce this issue in a brand new project file.
We had systematic templates of dozens of slides over the years, that we have QA'd and pre-built for efficacy, so we don't normally start over from scratch each time, to save project hours.
Now I'm working on a project with a client that is 8 years in the making (wow) but I'm doing the QA on several hundred mini components. Every time I click a box that has a rounded corner, either directly, or via the timeline, the corners automatically go max roundness (50%) and I need to change it back to 2% each slide. So it begins to add some time.
I even tried "Updating project texts" as these files are fairly old that there's no innate scroll pane on text boxes, but that still makes the rounded corners jump
This only happens the FIRST time I click on an item with rounded corners. Once I manually fix it back to 2%, it doesn't change again.
I hope this helps. I can share a file for you as well if you're curious to test this

Hi EquipeMiyagi,
Thanks for following up and sharing the additional details.
Shapes created before we introduced Corner Radius Formatting can still carry their old fixed values when opening those files in newer versions of Storyline. However, I do understand that this adds extra steps to the process of updating older Storyline content. I'd like to connect you with our support engineers so they can have a closer look at your specific issue.
I've opened a support case on your behalf and sent you an email with an upload link you can use to share an example .story file for testing.
We can continue the conversation through your case!
