Can someone confirm if the audio file name is not appearaing on hover
Can someone confirm if the audio file name does not appear when you hover over the audio track.
I don't know if it's my Windows settings or the same bug appearing once again.
AND.... Can someone tell the coders to add the audio file name somewhere else ! like in edit audio editor.
Is there no way of knowing the audio file name if the hover event is broken on the audio track?
- The file name displays when I hover over the audio track in the timeline.
- If I open an older file in a new instance, the hover audio file name works but does not work in first instance, sooner or later neither work.
PLEASE make another way to see the audio file name beside hovering over the audio track !! Thank you.

I've never been able to see the file name "hovering" in Rise 360. I tried it again - I didn't know it might be possible.
But I will second that we need to be able to see the file name when editing - we have trainings with a lot of audio pick-ups, and it would make updates so much faster.
Hi EricaHunter, thanks for chiming in and sharing your experience.
You’re right, in Rise 360, there isn’t currently a way to view audio file names during editing. When working with courses that include a lot of audio updates or pickups, that lack of visibility can make managing and updating content more difficult.
I’ve shared this feedback with our team so they can see how helpful it would be to surface audio file names more clearly during editing in Rise 360. We really appreciate you calling this out and explaining the impact it has on your day-to-day work.
Hi KenFlieger ,
Thanks for calling this out and for explaining what you’re seeing in detail!
In Storyline 360, the audio file name should appear when hovering over an audio track in the timeline, so it’d be helpful to gather a bit more information to understand why that’s stopping in your case. If you’re able to share, knowing which Storyline version you’re on and whether this tends to happen after editing audio, reopening a project, or working with multiple Storyline instances could help narrow things down.
As a short-term workaround, renaming audio assets in the Media Library can make files easier to identify without relying on hover. If the hover behavior consistently stops working, opening a support case would allow the team to take a closer look at what’s happening in your environment.
Separately, your feedback about wanting a more visible place, like the Edit Audio window, to see audio file names during editing has been shared with our team. Thanks for explaining how this impacts your workflow.

Same for me, really annoying. It works like 3 times, then after restart it works 3 times again
Hi PatrikStrandin & JimDeRosa,
Happy to assist!
As Eric mentioned, Storyline should display an audio filename when hovering over that item on the timeline. I tested a few different sample MP3 files, and all of the names displayed as expected.
The intermittent behavior you described can sometimes be caused by working off a network drive. Can you confirm that your .story files are stored on your local drive? If they are, and you're still having trouble, please try a repair of your Storyline installation.
If that doesn't do the trick, we'd love to take a closer look at your project files to see what could be getting in the way. Feel free to upload those files here in the discussion or through a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Yes, in Storyline the audio file name has somewhat recently stopped appearing when hovering in the timeline. I've been out of Storyline for a bit, so not sure when it occurred. If you right click the audio track in the timeline and select the accessibility option, it will show the filename as the default alt text value. You can leave that window open and click through different tracks to see the name of each. Not very convenient, but that's about all we have right now.

I am having the exact same issue. It works a couple of times, then randomly stops. What information must we provide for you to troubleshoot and fix the issue?

I am having the exact same issue. Could you please fix it.
Hi DorisDengg,
Sorry to hear that you're also having trouble!
If you're already working with locally-stored .story files, have you tried repairing your Storyline installation?
If that doesn't improve the issue, can you share one of the affected .story files so we can take a closer look? You can upload that file here or privately in a support case.
Thank you!
