Can you activate multiple layers timelines to play along with the base layer?

I'm tasked with what seems a straight forward request but logically I can't figure a solution. can anyone suggest anything to the following?

So you want the scenario to play like you are changing television stations with the audio on?
Exactly this, essentially playing the videos in parallel .... i,e switch between channel 1 and channel 2 and back in real time with no interruption to the video
