Can't figure out how to remove automated scroll bar appearing in Accessibility Text
Hi KarleysUsername!
I understand how frustrating it can feel to fix something in a project, only to have it change right back. Happy to help you with this!
Based on what you've shared, it sounds like Upgraded Project Text has been fully enabled. Does this course utilize Slide Masters as well? If a Slide Master has specific autofit settings, they can override the changes you've made on the individual Slide-level. If so, you can address this by:
- Checking the Slide Master layout to see if it has autofit settings applied that might be affecting the elements at the Slide-level.
- Adjusting the autofit settings directly in the Slide Master to ensure they align with your design preferences.
If you're not working with Slide Masters, and formatting settings are not being retained, it would be helpful to see the .story file that's giving you trouble.
Do you mind uploading a copy here in the discussion or through a support case so we can take a look?
Hi Steven!
Thanks for your help and understanding.
Yes, the upgraded text is enabled. Would unchecking that box stop all the scroll bars from being added to the text boxes? If so, would that also create issues with accessibility?
Yes, I'm using Slide Masters and had gone through every text box and changed the settings to not have scroll bars. But they still appeared anyway.
I will see how things go with the upgraded text disabled while I await your reply.

Hi KarleysUsername!
You're welcome. Thanks for following up!
Storyline's Upgrade Project Text is a standard feature and cannot be disabled. The most straightforward way to avoid scroll bars from appearing on an item is to expand the size of that item. I understand that you've been adjusting the Text Autofit controls, but have you also tried manually increasing the size of the affected items on your Slides?
Also, any modifications you make in Storyline should be retained when saving the project. If you're comfortable sharing the .story file and the exact steps you've been taking, we're happy to test it further on our side. This can help us determine if the issue lies with Storyline or the file itself.
