Can't get screen reader to indicate when a listed item is bulleted
For a bulleted list to be 508-compliant, the screen reader must encounter an indicator that the item about to be read is preceded by a bullet, or is assigned the style "list item." Despite being able to format items as bullets in Articulate Storyline 2, the screen reader completely ignores the bullet character and reads the listed items as run-on sentences. My course is failing Federal 508 compliance for a number of reasons, and this is one of them.
Does anyone have a solution for this? I've tried inserting a symbol before a list item, but it auto-converts to a bullet and I can't keep Articulate from enacting that auto-formatting.

I removed any text in the field but when I go back to the same list, the text is there again no matter how many times I remove it when the Object is Visible to Accessibility Tools remains checked.
Hi Val,
Thanks for reaching out! Your observation is correct; the default text will always populate the Alternate Text textbox, even if you delete it. If the visibility box is checked, but there isn't any alternate text, screen readers will read the object's name as it appears in the timeline.
You can check if you have blank Alternate Text in the Focus Order window to confirm if the objects' Alternate Texts are indeed blank.
Let me know if that helps!
