Captions issues

I am writing a project to be consumed on phones. It has a portrait mode video which matches the screen dimensions, and I'm using captions, which the user can toggle on and off. Both player styles are giving me problems.

Modern player: It takes up far too much screen space, shrinking the video down smaller than what I want. But I can see the entire caption.

Classic player: Much better in terms of screen space, but I can only see the top line of any caption, as the seekbar covers it up.

How do I fix this?

  • Since you know the project will be consumed on phones, maybe it'll help to change the slide size to match the tall/portrait format.

  • That's exactly how I have it now. If there were no controls at all and no seekbar, the video would fill the screen as it is 9:16. Are you suggesting I change that? That is possible, but I want to make sure I understand what you are suggesting.

I was only suggesting the change to a tall aspect ratio. I didn't know you were already using that.

I've never had to deal with vertical courses and videos, so I don't have another suggestion, other than that you could try it with no controls and/or no seekbar to see if that gets you what you want.
