capture learner's name and use as variable to personalize the course

Greetings and an early good morning to you,

In this video

https://training.articulate.com/webinars/quick-tips-and-tricks-episode-72

The first exercise displays a character and a large name tag box where the user can enter their name and then it can be used as a variable throughout the course.

See attached image if this doesn't ring a bell.  Once you see the screen shot I'm sure you'll remember it.

I saw the same exercise multiple times in different tips and tricks.  One of them I followed along pressing pause every 15 seconds and built it with Tom or Ken I forget.

So I've already made this before but in haste deleted it :-(

Instead of re-creating it again maybe you have it handy and have a download link?

That would be awesome

Thanks

  • Got it!

    Thanks Tom

In my screen shot you'll see I'm using the font Articulate font for my project which I can select from the slide you provided i modified.

From another slide I copped over the header text which is set to articulate headings

On the new slide when I go to make sure my font header text is attached to my theme fonts I don't see a header or body in the select menu.

How can I attach my header text to my theme fonts even though i already have them  both set to articulate?

    Thanks

  • The header and body options are part of the design theme. Ideally, the fonts you use come from your design theme so that they're consistent and you can dynamically replace them with a new theme.

You can find the theme fonts in the Design tab. From what it looks like, the theme applied to that slide is using a theme font with no header.

  • I'm not sure why the header isn't displaying, it's possible that bringing in the older slide may have introduced an issue.

Go into the Design tab and create a new theme and add the header/body fonts you want and then reapply that to the slide.
