Changing fonts in MS Word Output

Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the Notes section in Storyline 360, so it outputs the same Text Style defined in Notes to MS Word? Currently, when you publish to MS Word, the Notes panels output to Word in Open Sans 8 pt. Or at least, that's what shows up in Word. I want the slide notes in the Word document to be Calibri 12pt. Just as I have the text set in my Text Styles. It is a pain when I have to go through each page of the Word doc and manually change the Notes text from Open Sans 8pt to Calibri 12pt.

This sounds like an undocumented feature, a.k.a. a bug.

Thanks

  • Hi DebraHolcomb-5d I'm not sure about setting it so the export is ok, but I would think that you can do a global update in MS Word. When you update the font size/family, you should be able to tell word to update all similar font size/family to the new style.

See this video for instruction on how to do that: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/5b67f7b9-235e-4d05-8cb7-9eed5853ef4d/review

      Hi,

Thanks for the reply. What I typically do is a CTRL+A to select everything in the Word doc and change it to Calibri 12pt. However, it changes everything, i.e., titles, headers, footers, etc., to the same font and size, which is a problem by itself. More than anything, why isn't the style setting in Storyline Notes carrying over to Word?  What's the point of updating the style in Storyline if you have to redo it in Word?

      Thanks,  Debbie

Hi Debbie, I think using the method I showed in the video is much more targeted to the notes section as it only targets instances which share the same font size, which should just be the notes.

I can't help with the reasons for the font not being maintained export. It looks like they might have missed that in testing the export as it appears to revert to a default notes font size.
