Changing Object IDs to Make Morph Work
I was thrilled to learn the other day that morph is available in Storyline; it's my favourite tool in PowerPoint! I'm beginning to see the limitations of morph in Storyline - it is a new feature so it's going to have some growing pains.
One of them is text boxes. My textboxes all don't morph, even though they are copy / pastes from one slide to another.
In researching here what i might have done wrong i found out about object IDs... huh! :)
Is it possible to manually edit the object ID? I was working under the impression that the object name in the timeline had to match - even used the "!!" you use in PowerPoint to ensure it, but that didn't seem to do the trick.

Hello OrganizationSta,
Great to hear you’re exploring morph transitions in Storyline 360. It’s an exciting new feature, especially for fans of PowerPoint’s Morph!
You’re absolutely right that morphing requires the same object ID across both slides. In Storyline, though, those IDs are assigned automatically and can’t be edited manually like you might expect. Matching names on the timeline or using “!!” (like in PowerPoint) unfortunately won’t make a difference here.
To get Morph working with text boxes, try duplicating the slide that contains the text box you want to morph. Then, make sure the text box is in the same position on both slides. Finally, apply the Morph transition to the second slide.
If the issue continues, let me know. You can also connect with us privately in a support case if you’d like more targeted help.
