Closed Captioning not appearing for all slides...
This is my second posting today. I am getting the same behavior on a completely different project file. We imported freshly translated Chinese closed captions replacing previous English Captions. There are 32 Slides and the captions do appear for most, however a few slides have no captions even though closed caption file has been replaced. The "CC" button disappears from the player on these couple of slides.

Solved the problem. There is obviously a bug causing three slides to not play the captions even though they have captions on them. I created new blank slides and inserted the same movies that still have those captions. I deleted the "buggy" slides and now those new slides play the captions as normal. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes you have to rebuild the slide to get rid of the bug.

Thank you, Kelly.
I think the problem has been solved. I rebuilt the slides and now the captions work for those three slides. As long as the "problem" does not move to other slides, we should be good.
Thanks for the update, David! Also, a quick note that replying via email includes your signature here so you are welcome to edit the post and remove that information if you wish.
