This is probably being caused by varying screen resolutions and slide sizes and there's no way to cut out space from the slide itself. One of the best practices for screen recordings in Storyline is to set your slide size and your screen resolution to be the same. This will accomplish two things: 1.) It will keep your screen recording clear, as Storyline won't have to try to compress or stretch it and 2.) it will prevent you from having extra space on your slide.
I would recommend setting both your slide size and your monitor that you are recording on at 1920x1080.
