Corrupt File that will not open!

Looking for some help and I know others have had issues with Corrupt files (due to my searching the community here) but have not seem a solution yet for my file as I have tried to search for the .temp file, reinstall Articulate, etc.. I would attach the file, but larger than the Max size. Help please!

  • Hi Robert, when this has happened to me in the past, usually one of the following have worked:

    • copying and pasting the file to the same folder and opening and using the new file
    • copying and pasting the file to a different folder or my desktop and opening and using the new file
    • doing one of the above and changing the name of the new file
    • restarting my computer and trying to open the file again

    Good luck with this!

Hi Robert, I have received same "corrupt"message, and more recently "you do not have permission to open..."!

If you haven't tried this, an - I have no idea why fix - that has worked for me (no labor-intensive trouble-shooting involved) is to close the SL file and then simply open the file again - for some unknown reason that works for me.  Good luck!

  • Hi RobertHemrick,

Sorry to hear about your project file. Feel free to share a copy of it here or privately by opening a support case so we can check if we can recover any of the course's content. We'll delete it when we're done testing!

This article explains the possible causes of file corruption and you'll want to make sure to avoid them to reduce the risk of running into this issue again.
