Course resets after completion despite resume settings in Player
Hi Alyssa!
Thank you for the reply, yes that is exactly it, once they have completed the course when they launch it again to refresh the course they are sent back to the first page and unable to move freely, having to complete the course each time to get to the page they want.
I've now tested it in SCORM Cloud and replicated the same behaviour so I have sent the storyline file over for testing.
Thank you very much for your help!
Hello I am dealing with this exact same problem. Is there a solution and if so can you please share?

Hi MinaHussaini-c8!
Sorry to hear your Storyline course isn't performing as expected!
A helpful first step is to test how the course behaves in an LMS test environment, like SCORM Cloud. If the same issues can be observed when testing with SCORM Cloud, please share the .story file that's giving you trouble. Feel free to upload a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
However, if the behavior described cannot be observed in SCORM Cloud, I suggest connecting with your LMS support so they can take a closer look into this issue.

Hello,
Were you able to resolve this issue? I am experiencing the same problem, but only with SCORM 2004 content.

✅ Steps to Save the Fully Unlocked Menu State
- Enable Resume Functionality:
- Go to Player → Other tab.
- Set On restart to Prompt to resume or Always resume.
- This ensures Storyline stores user progress and menu state (including visited slides) in the LMS or browser cache.
- Configure the Menu Behavior:
- In the Player → Menu tab:
- Right-click a slide → Choose Reset from story to match your actual slide order.
- Click the gear icon (⚙️) and ensure:
- Navigation Restriction is set to Free or Restricted (depending on your needs).
- If you want users to revisit and have full menu access post-completion, Restricted is fine as long as resume is on.
- In the Player → Menu tab:
- Use Completion Tracking (LMS):
- When publishing to LMS, ensure:
- Tracking is based on number of slides viewed or quiz completion.
- Your LMS supports and correctly interprets resume data (SCORM 1.2 or 2004 works best).
- When publishing to LMS, ensure:
- Avoid Resetting Slide States:
- For individual slides, check that "When revisiting" is set to Resume saved state, not "Reset to initial state".
I hope that helps! Cheers!

Thank you for your reply! I should have mentioned that I'm experiencing this issue with Rise 360 courses, which further limits the configuration options. However, I will definitely make note of this for the future for content I build in Storyline!
