Courses developed in Rise losing learner's progress

We've got a number of courses developed in Rise (our LMS is Kineo Totara, so Moodle-based).

We're seeing a number of users who have completed the course or, in other cases, gotten to the last page (restricted navigation is on, so they can't skip ahead), only to have completion not recorded.  When I've investigated, many of the pages in the module are now unticked, saying they're only, say, 1/3 through, or halfway through.  I have enough cases where I have verified from screenshots that they're at the end - in a couple, I've even 'logged in as' that user, progressed to the last page, and had the progress lost.

We have our LMS vendor looking into it, but though I'd investigate from this angle - has anybody seen anything like this?  I can't see any setting in Rise that could cause this.

Sorry to hear that your LMS is not recording completion status as expected.

From what you’ve described, there isn’t anything in Rise 360 that would cause learners’ progress to reset or show as partially complete after reaching the end of a course. Rise tracks completion based on the criteria you’ve set, and once those requirements are met, it sends that completion status to the LMS. How an LMS interprets and displays that data is reliant on the LMS itself.

Learner progress appearing “unticked” or not being recorded typically points to how the LMS is receiving, storing, or resuming SCORM data.

A helpful next step would be to test the course in SCORM Cloud. This is a neutral environment that can confirm whether the course is reporting completion correctly outside of your LMS. If the course tracks as expected there, it would indicate that the issue is likely related to the LMS configuration or how it’s handling SCORM data.

However, if you're seeing the same issue in SCORM Cloud, we're happy to take a closer look at the affected Rise course. You can share a copy with us privately, through a support case.

Let me know how it goes!
