Create a custom rewind button?

This is such an obvious request, I really need this to meet the compliance requirements for the course I am creating.  As above I simply need a way for a trainee to rewind part of a slide to listen again without restarting the whole slide and equally without being able to jump forward?  

Please tell me this has been solved by Articulate without the need to add additional code.

You can click ahead on the seekbar if it's not enabled as "read only", and you can also replay the entire slide using the replay button. Are you looking for a rewind button that would allow you to return back to a particular point in the slide timeline? 

 We would love to hear more about what you would like to see regarding this ability if you're up for logging a feature request.

If you're using Articulate 360, you may want to look at the conditional seekbar feature added to Storyline 360.  It sounds like that would accomplish a lot of what you're hoping for!

I have a Storyline 360 video, recorded as a screen recording to demo software and with voiceover included.  When the user plays the video, I definitely want them to be able to rewind a couple of seconds/minutes in case they miss anything but when dragging the seekbar, the bar moves but nothing changes, the voiceover and the video carry on regardless. If I click pause and then drag the bar all the way to the end, it makes no difference.  I have watched the conditional seekbar help and everything is set that way but I still can't rewind.  Is this a feature request or is there now a different way to do this?

Hi Diane,

Have you set up the conditional seekbar on that slide? If so, the learner won't be able to rewind until they've watched to the end at least once.

I've made a workaround for myself as I'm using Storyline 3 so don't have access to the conditional seekbar.

I put my video on the base slide with no controls or seekbar, though I did add custom "Pause" and "Resume" buttons. The video plays automatically and the "Next" button is set to disabled.

I also created a layer called "replay", which is triggered to appear when the video is completed. This layer contains the same video but with the video control bar (added via the "video tools" tab). This video only plays when clicked. The "Next" button is changed to "Normal". The learners are advised that they can now review any parts of the video they wish using the control bar, or press "Next" to continue.

This may be a useful workaround for other, like me, who are in compliance and have to ensure learners view the entire video, but want to give them opportunity to rewatch parts of the video.

I've added a sample story with a 20 second video - I just came up with this workaround this morning so there may still be some rough edges on it.
