Creating a module in either Rise or Storyline with an interactive Camtasia video
Hello!
I have created 3 interactive Camtasia videos. I would like to package them in Articulate using either Storyline or Rise. In addition to the videos, I want to add some introduction material and an assessment. The learner would need to complete all sections of the module for credit. What is the best approach? Does any have experience or examples?
Thank you so much!!
Melissa
Storyline probably makes the most sense. Publish the Camtasia file and you should get a folder. Inside that folder is the URL that launches the video and all of the interactive overlays for Camtasia.
Change the name of that to index.html
Insert the index file as a local web object and SL will pull in the folder.
Considering the limitations with interactivity in Camtasia, it may make more sense to insert the video into Storyline and then leverage SL interactive feature.

Hi Tom,
I appreciate your assistance. The 3 Camtasia videos are already published and accessed using Screencast. We want to make a module including them with some added introduction/instructional material and an assessment. So, I really do not want to recreate all the interactivity in Storyline for the videos themselves. I will keep that in mind as we create additional videos and trainings.
To clarify, I just need to insert the index file as a local web object and SL will pull it in. I want to make sure the learner watches the entirety of each video before it is marked as complete. Is this possible? When I create the SCORM package for our LXP, will it require the leaner to watch the entire video, before marking it complete?
Thank you so much!
Here's a video of how to insert the Camtasia. Someone else had the same question a few weeks ago.
Inserting the video as a weboject presents some issues with tracking what the person does inside the webobject.
You can probably put some sort of timed trigger on the slide to disable advancing.
