Creating Custom Text Style for bulleted lists

I can select Headings and the hyperlink and I can customize them. What I need is the text style for a list (e.g., html
). I need this for 508 compliance. How do I create it in Storyline 360?

  • Hello Noanie and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are working on with your Storyline project.

I can see that you are using Storyline 360.

Storyline 360 meets the Level A conformance for WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships:

Storyline 360 automatically publishes the proper semantic formatting for paragraphs, links, lists, and other elements so screen reader users can explore content easily.

Are you experiencing an issue with your list in the published output? I'd be happy to take a look.

  • Leslie,

Bulleted lists are not being recognized by JAWS as a lists, especially when animating them per paragraph.

Is there a way to incorporate Lists
in the Text Styles option on the ribbon (see attached screen capture)?

  • Hello Noanie!

I'm happy to help! We don't currently have a way to incorporate Lists in the Text Styles option. However, you should hear JAWS reading each item in a bulleted list. One thing that might be getting in the way is the animation. JAWS doesn't announce objects when they appear on a screen. Instead, it announces items when they're navigated to. With that in mind, I'd recommend not using animations with JAWS and any other screen reader to present content at one time.

Please let me know if you have additional questions!
