Custom blocks - focus order

Hi everyone,

I have been starting to use custom blocks, although still waiting for Articulate to let us know which ones are truly accessible, so using sparingly.  I am struggling with all the "containers" "canvas" "layout" boxes and whether they are read or flow.

I will try in NVDA, but as a very novice person with it, I am not sure if I know what I don't know.

Here are a few images, that I am trying to determine if things will or not be read, you can't seem to delete things from focus order like you can in storyline.

In image one:

layout seems to be the full box
container 1 seems to be the full image (1,2,3 text and white box)
container 2 is the 1st objective text and number icon
and continues with container 3 and 4

Not sure what is read, will only my number and text be read?

2nd one - the Canvas is the full rectangle, if we put some text there will the screen reader read it (thinking like an introduction to the infographic.  Then heading 1 1 and Heading 2 1 I just moved them to be in order.  I really wish we could rename these headings.  In this instance as well do we leave the group field blank?

I have so many more but thought would get basic thoughts here.

Thanks for any advise/assistance.

Good questions — and good on you for testing with NVDA early. A couple of general rules that apply whatever the block type: a screen reader reads text, not containers, so your number + text will be read as long as they're live text (not baked into the image). If the 1-2-3 graphic is an image with the numbers inside the image file, that won't be read — the numbers need to be live text or have alt text. For the canvas: yes, text placed on it gets read, in DOM order. I haven't tested the custom blocks beta specifically, so verify with NVDA — but those principles hold.
