Thank you for narrowing down the issue.
Since this is device-specific, I'd follow the recommendation from Google:
Android 10 or later: If you open an app that doesn't support a dark theme, turn on color inversion in addition to dark theme.
Hi Leslie, In the particular case I had it was more like turn on colour inversion instead of dark theme
