Hi Ryan. I can see how that behavior is not what you'd want!
Can you share some details with me so I can try to reproduce? My carriage returns worked in the variable text on my test project in Storyline 360. I noted the difference in behavior between a text box and a shape with text in it, especially for longer variable reference text.
- Can you confirm what version of Storyline you’re using? Go to Help > About Storyline. The latest build is 3.15.15453.0.
- Are you seeing this behavior in Preview, the output, or both?
- Where do you test your published output (web, LMS, some other way)?
