Delay when copying a slide in Storyline
Since March I have been experiencing a +- 45 second minute delay when copying a slide in Storyline, which is as you can imagine very time consuming.
Does anyone else experience this issue and does anyone have a possible solution?

Hi RobbertvH ,
I opened your file. (spoiler: no solution, sorry) Here’s what I noticed:
-“The entire file” seems a bit slower, for example, compared to one of mine of similar size on the same computer, when I select an object or jump from slide to slide.
-Copying a slide can take about 10–15 seconds (not 45 seconds). It’s a bit faster if I do it from Storyview.
-However, on my PC, previewing a slide can take 20 seconds (screen 2.1) or 25 to 30 seconds (screen 3.3). Very strange and very annoying.
I thought it might be because of all the extra elements: the layers on the slide master (but obviously it shouldn’t be). I moved the extra layers to a sub-layout instead of the master slide. I gained a little speed when copying a slide, and it now takes an average of 10 seconds to display a preview (which is still too long since these two screens don’t contain any “large” images, audio, or video).
To get a real explanation and a real solution, it’s up to the Articulate team to analyze your file.

Thanks for your input Thierry! I suspect there might be a bug in the file. I tested and confirmed this bug does not occur when I open a brand new file.

Hi RobbertvH,
Great call testing this in a brand new file!
Did you try importing your slides into that brand new file? If you do that and the issue persists, there may be a corrupted element in your course. We'd be happy to take a closer look if you share your file here or privately!
