Designate Photo as Interactive Object

I am trying to make a photo an interactive object so it gets selected when a user tabs through the slide. Does anyone know how to do this or have any alternative ideas?

Why not try this: insert a shape (or a text box). Give it the same aspect ratio as the picture. Then fill the object with the picture. (Be sure to deselect the "Tile picture" option.)
Add your triggers to the shape. Hopefully that'll be keyboard accessible.
