Differing audio levels in published Storyline video
Hi,
I have a Storyline project containing six slides. Three have audio which I recorded directly into the respective slides. The other three slides contain inserted, previously published video's (created and published in Replay), but once published, the volume on the three Replay video slides is quite a bit louder than the three I directly recorded into.
I have checked 'Set the same volume level for all audio' when publishing, and have also tried increasing the volume levels by 15% in each of the quiet slides but this didn't seem to actually change the volume on those slides at all. Does anyone know how I can make the volume consistent throughout the whole video?
A side note, the publishing (specifically encoding) of the video takes a crazy long time. It's a circa 8 minute video in total but takes 20 - 25 minutes to publish - any tips to speed this up?
TIA

Hi Joe,
Unfortunately, due to my company's privacy policy I'm unable to share the file.
Do you have any other ideas on how to solve this?
Hi Tom,
Thanks for the update. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that you can try to help address the behavior:
- Make sure that you are working locally when publishing your project file
- Do a repair of Storyline 360 to ensure that you are working out of a healthy installation
- Download a tool called Audacity to check if the volume levels of your audio files are the same
Note that we can also provide you with an NDA if that will help allow your company to share your file with us for testing. Let me know if this works for you!

I would like to report the same issue. 5 videos in my course have higher audio levels than 15 audio files. Everything was balanced in Adobe Premiere at 6db before bringing media into Storyline. In my case, the audio files have a lower volume.
Hi Douglas C,
Thanks for reaching out!
Is this issue with the audio happening during preview mode and when published? First, I suggest trying the troubleshooting steps my teammate, Joe, mentioned above your post!
If that doesn't do the trick, would you be comfortable sharing your file with our team for further testing? You're welcome to share it here or upload it privately in a support case. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete!
