  • Hi Tricia,

After some more tinkering, I think I may have found a solution. Here's what I did:

    1. In the root folder, rename story_html5.html to story_html5.aspx  (same way as you would have already changed story.html to story.aspx)

    2. Then, in the story.aspx file, change the reference from story_html5.html to story_html5.aspx

I've tested in IE, Edge and Chrome, and it seems to be working everywhere now.

Great work Malcolm, I was getting ready to provide the exact same information.  Again, nice work.

  • This thread seems more active than the stale one I posted in earlier so sorry if this is a repetitive. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this enduring post. I am trying to embed a storyline 360 file into a sharepoint O365 (online) team site. We are on Windows 10 and use the current IE browser. I have sifted through the recommendations and have done the following to successfully be able to see the story.aspx on my browser:

    1. Published to web
    2. Renamed all .html extensions to .aspx
    3. Loaded all the files from the published package to sharepoint document library using explorer. All files are checked in. All intended test users have access to both the document library where the content is saved in sharepoint and to the page where the file is embedded
    4. I created a wiki page in sharepoint and embedded the <iframe> code to link to the story.aspx file.

I can view the file without any challenges. My test users only see the round loading wheel and the content never loads.

I think I have read all of the sharepoint related discussion threads and I have not seen this as a reported issue.  Has anyone encountered this? More importantly...does anyone know how to fix this so my users can also see the file?

  • No worries Alice, you are doing great! I just responded to your post here, but you're right and you might have better response on this thread.

When we publish a project using the Articulate Presenter plugin in PowerPoint, upload the presentation file to Sharepoint (and change the html5 to aspx), the file downloads when clicked on the link, instead of just playing within SharePoint.

When we publish with Articulate Storyline directly, and upload the story to Sharepoint (still changing the name to an .aspx file), it doesn't download.  It just plays.

We notice the file names are "presentation" versus "story".  Could that be the issue?  Also, the link the file in sharepoint has the word "download" in it ,when it was published originally through the Articulate powerpoint plugin.

I'm working with a very experienced Articulate user on our team, and he has not seen this before either...he's never upload though a file published through the Articulate Presenter powerpoint  (which creates a presentation file) plugin though, only Articulate proper (which creates a story file.

Here is what Sharepoint creates as the link to the .aspx file:

    https://tysononline.sharepoint.com/sites/Source/WorkdayLearning/_layouts/15/download.aspx?UniqueId=afb924e986ee436d880a5e24fd7657b9&e=J0cKRL

You can see in there an "instruction" (I suppose) to download.  My guess is that that instruction should not be there if we want it to play directly in Sharepoint.

But for courses published in Articulate proper, when uploaded to Sharepoint, the link the .aspx file looks like this, as an example:

    https://tysononline.sharepoint.com/:u:/r/sites/Source/WorkdayLearning/Simulation%20Folders/HMSCOM122%20Propose%20Annual%20Salary%20Review%20-%20Storyline%20output/story_html5.aspx?csf=1&e=wRiP78

    No "download" in the URL.

Any ideas or solves very appreciated!

    Hi,

I know this is a slightly older thread, but hoping someone might be able to help me. I've uploaded my storyline course to sharepoint, changing the .html files to .aspx

When I click the link to open it in a new tab it works for me fine, but I got someone else to try it and it downloaded the file instead and then wasn't sure where to open it. Is there any reason it would be doing this?

Also when I say 'the link' I mean the story.aspx file - I have been opening it then trying to send this link to others which is when it is downloading for them.

    Hi all,
These posts are several years old. Before trying this out, does this method still work to share RISE360 and Storyline course to sharepoint?

    Thanks!
