Dividers - Too much space/padding

Hello!

I just watched the video on creating custom dividers in PowerPoint (https://community.articulate.com/blog/tips-tricks/make-your-rise-course-look-different-with-custom-dividers/1215506).  I saved my dividers as a PNG file.  When I go to use them in Rise 360, there's too much padding between the custom dividers and the blocks above and below it.  I am inserting an image.  Is there another way to do this where I don't get so much white space between the content blocks and my divider?  Thank you.

  • Hello daodn,

    Happy to help!

Here's the amount of padding I see when I create a divider in PowerPoint and use it as a divider in a Rise 360 course:

You can move the blocks closer to the divider by removing the padding altogether.

If you do not see the same behavior when you upload your PNG files to Rise 360 to use as dividers, would you mind sharing a copy of your PNG file here so I can compare it with the one I used for testing?

    Thank you so much.
I'll give that a try later in the day.
I've attached two PNG files I've saved from a PowerPoint slide.

Here are the two PNG files.

    • Hello daodn,

Thanks for sharing copies of your screenshots. I looked at them and saw that the white spaces at the top and bottom are part of the design, which is why you see additional spaces at the top and bottom when using them.

You'll want to use images that open without any spaces at the top and bottom, similar to the image I shared.

Saving a picture in PowerPoint, especially images that are designed to look like dividers, should look like this:

      Hope this helps!

Jose -- thank you for this advice.  So, on the PowerPoint slide, I create my "divider", but what does one do with all that white space?  Do I create a divider that covers the whole slide?  Or is there a certain way to save the .PNG file?  Thank you for your help!
