Editing the width of videos or images in Rise

I am putting together an e-learning using Rise and have included both videos and images. The width of these items are not consistent and I'd like to be able to increase the width of the videos or decrease the width of the images so that everything is lined up throughout the module. I know I can choose small/medium/large for the videos but that still isn't getting me what I need. What is the best way to do this?

Thank you for any suggestions  you have!

  • Hi Sarah,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Could you please share a screenshot to compare the media width and what you are trying to achieve? Is this for video player width or the actual video?

Hi there, Sarah. Yes, your reply came through and posted in the discussion here! When you reply via email, your response is still posted to the original discussion.

The centered image block doesn't have a width that exactly matches the video block width. Instead, try a labeled graphic block for your image. I used an image edited to be 1100 px wide to match the default video block width, and I removed the labels so it just looked like an ordinary image block. The widths matched pretty well.

Let me know how that idea works for you!

  • Thanks Renz. My goal is to make the width of all media consistent throughout the module. It makes no difference to me whether I change the width of the videos or the width of the images; I'd just like them to be consistent. In case it's helpful to know: I captured the screengrab videos using Replay360 and captured the still images using SnagIt.

This is what is looks like when the video settings are set to Medium.

And this is how it displays if I set the video to Small.

Either way, the width is very different than the width of the still images. I've attempted to change the size of the images in SnagIt (the program I used to capture the images) but it doesn't seem to impact how they display in the e-learning module once I upload them. I'd be grateful for any help you can offer.

  • I have the same question as Sarah Kanning did. It looks like impossible to enlarge text blocks in Rise. I have to set all my Storyline blocks to " small" to match the block size in Rise.

Hello Bruce! Besides the workaround shared by Crystal, there isn't a way to adjust the size or positioning of a Text block in Rise 360.

We are tracking a request for the ability to adjust the indentation or padding of a Text block to align it to the previous and succeeding blocks within your course. I'll add you to the list and we'll reach out to you if we make changes that will help.
