Variables are my one of my favorite features! Mixed with trigger conditions, those provide the real power in Storyline.
My pain point is graphic design. I get by, because I'm usually working with a company's branding standards anyway. Still, I envy the folks who are visually creative.
P.S. I agree with you about the Quick Tips. I typically watch the recorded versions (Watch Storyline 360 Webinars - Articulate 360 Training), so I can play them at a faster-than-normal yet still understandable speed, and slow them down as needed. I always learn something new from each episode.
I agree about the variables and triggers which is why I'm determined to master it!
Visual design is kind of tricky because it's very subjective.
