Format Painter "grouping" triggers when using that feature.
Hi all,
I've recently run into an issue with format painter where if you have a trigger on an object (I have 5 objects in this case), it will copy the triggers over. For example, when I try to change the trigger on object 3 (with it selected), it defaults and links back to object 2. It's as if they are now linked without being grouped at all. This is not what I want. To clarify, clicking on object 2 and 3 must now show the same layer. Frustrating!
This resulted in me giving up and just rebuilding from scratch. Has anyone else ran into this issue where format painter will cause triggers to link with other objects that were format painted? Is there a format painter settings feature that I don't know about? Otherwise, I've lost my faith in format painter.
Anyone else having the same issue? Is there a solution or is this a bug? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

Very strange, bdaviau08 . I can't reproduce this. I create a button (blue by default) whose format I have changed to orange. It triggers a change in the state of a rectangle when I select it. Then I created a second button (blue) and applied a painter format from the first button: the second one turned orange, but the trigger was not copied. Only the first one changes the state of the rectangle.
Was it a temporary bug? Maybe after restarting SL, what is the situation now for you? - JudyNolletSuper Hero
bdaviau08 : Like ThierryEMMANUEL, I tried to replicate this problem, but couldn't.
So I'd say you're experiencing what is politely called "unexpected behavior."
Here’s some standard advice that the staff usually offers:
- Be sure you only work on Storyline files located on your local hard drive.
- Quit Storyline and relaunch it.
- If that doesn’t help, try to repair Storyline (see https://www.articulatesupport.com/article/Articulate-Storyline-360-How-to-Fix-Unexpected-or-Erratic-Behavior).
If all that fails to help, submit a case directly to the Articulate staff. You can do that here: https://access.articulate.com/support/contact
