Formatting Data-Entry Text

re: https://community.articulate.com/articles/articulate-storyline-360-user-guide-how-to-work-with-data-entry-fields#format-text

HOW do I differently format the instruction text from the learner's text in a Data-Entry field?

The cited says, "You can format the instruction text in a data-entry field and the text that learners enter" and provides a chart with the options. It DOES NOT say how to specify one vs. the other.

  • Hello Robert,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I did a test on a new project file, and it looks like formatting is applied to both the instruction text and the learner's input. I opened a support case on your behalf so our support team can share some additional input regarding your inquiry. Someone will be in touch shortly!

      Hi Nick,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue. After having our support engineers take a closer look at the behavior, it was identified that the text formats Underline, Highlight color, Bullets, and Text Direction do not appear in the Preview or Published Output of the course when used with the Data-Entry element.

This community thread has been added to the bug report so we can notify you as soon as a fix is released!

Thanks for asking this - I have been trying unsuccessfully to do this. I found the text you mentioned above where it makes it sound like you can have two different font styles - which I have found after many hours is not possible... At least I know now that it cannot be done.
